Soccer - Youth
The YMCA partners with SESA to offer youth soccer programs in a fun, skill-based environment. We have a variety of programs offering different formats from volunteer coaches to professional sport coaches. With an emphasis on fair play and safety first, the YMCA/SESA youth soccer programs are progressive with age appropriate rules to help teach the game and keep it fun! Soccer is a sport that teaches important core values, while also emphasizing exercise and building endurance.
All participants must have:
- Soccer Cleats
- Shin Guards
- Size 4 soccer ball (Junior Academy and Community Rec League)
- Water Bottle
Junior Academy Boys
The U8 Junior Academy Program is open to all Boys and Girls birth year 2021-2018; perfect for new players looking to build skills and passion for soccer and returning players to continue in a valued program to prepare for the competitive SESA Academy following programs.
Practice Schedule:
- Mondays: 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM at FC Turf
- Thursdays: 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM at SESA Training Grounds
Program Dates:
- March 30th – May 16 (8 weeks)
All participants must have:

Spring Community League
Your BURLINGTON AREA YMCA and SOUTHEAST SOCCER ACADEMY team up to offer an opportunity to be active outdoors while improving your child’s soccer skills. Community League soccer places a strong emphasis on both skill and character development. Each player will receive a team t-shirt. Register at the Y front desk or online at www.burlingtony.org.
*The Community League is open to all boys and girls ages pre-k to 8th grade.
**New addition to our program:
Introducing SESA Touch Tuesdays! Burlington community league players U10 and older now have access to weekly professional training sessions led by SESA coaches. These sessions will focus on enhancing player touch and technical skills. Join us :
Tuesdays from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM at the Burlington Rec Plex starting March 31st .
Community League Game Dates – April 4,11,18,25 and May 2nd.
One week off for the Mississippi Cup (May 9 & 10)
Community Cup Saturday May 16th.

U6 Soccer Micro Strikers
Our skills development series is open to children who are eligible to be enrolled in 3-year old pre-school. Players will learn basic soccer fundamentals through drills and small group instruction. Sessions are held at the FunCity Turf.
