The staff of the Burlington Area Community YMCA-YWCA strives to meet the needs of our members through a variety of programs and activities for all ages.  Your suggestions on how we can improve our services are always appreciated.  Comment slips and a drop box are located at the back desk or you can contact us through our website. Deb Mulch graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in Community Health Education. Deb was employed by the YWCA of Burlington as a Program Director from 1985-1991.  She returned to YWCA for employment in 2000 as the Executive Director and served in that position until being hired as the Executive Director for the Burlington Area Community YMCA-YWCA.

Gina Crabtree is a graduate from Western Illinois University with a degree is Physical Education and coaching certification.  She started her career at the Y in 1989 as Assistant Camp Director.  In 1992 she was hired full time as the Camp Director.  Gina has also had programming experience in School Age Child Care and Youth/Teen programming. 

Gina is a native of Burlington.  Her husband’s name is Jeff and they have two children named Karissa and Cameron.   Gina is a member of Burlington Fine Arts League and Kiwanis.   In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, working out at the Y, and running outdoors. 

Gina is focusing on membership recruitment/retention, member service, quality programs and building strong kids, strong families and strong communities.  She encourages you to be a part of the Y family.  Please stop in and meet her if you haven’t done so yet!

Jill graduated from Western Illinois University in May 2008 with a degree in Marketing and Management.  She has worked at our Y since 2003 at the front desk and the Summer Quest program.  Jill has been involved in sports throughout her entire life and even hold a school record in discus!  She is very excited to be a part of the full-time staff and to see all the members on a daily basis.  Stop by and say hello!  



Teen, Family, Gymnastics Director

Kara Jameson has been coaching gymnastics at the Burlington Y since 2000 and has over 15 years experience working with cheerleaders throughout Iowa. Current certifications include: AACCA Safety Certification (American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators), USASF Credentialing (U.S. All Star Federation) in All Star Cheerleading Levels 1-3, National Council of Spirit Safety and Education in Cheer and Dance Coaching Principles and Ethics and Coaching Cheer Fundamentals, YMCA of the USA Gymnastic Instructor, Gymnastic Administrator, First Aid and CPR.



Aquatic Director

Karen is a graduate from Iowa State University with a degree in Leisure Studies.  She began her Y career at the Muscatine Community Y where she held several positions, lastly serving as the Aquatics Director for a little over 12 years.  Karen, her husband Brian and their daughter Bailey enjoy camping, fishing, canoeing, hunting and of course swimming.  Be sure to stop by Karen's office and say "Hi".

Kari previously worked at the front desk at the Y for over 9 years before moving to the position of Membership Services Coordinator in November 2007.  Kari and her husband Richard have one son, Scot, and four grandkids.  She is a big Nascar fan (go Jeff Burton) and enjoys motorcycyling and anything to do with cars.  While she enjoys the challenges of her new position, she misses talking with the Y members.  Be sure to stop in and visit with her!

Linda Robinson is the Child Care Director and has been with the Y for 27 plus years.  Her husband’s name is David and they have two daughters Rea and Elisha, and three wonderful grandchildren, Izzaac, Iziah, and Nautica.  Linda has enjoyed all the Y activities her children and grandchildren have attended and people they have met through the Y.  



School Age Child Care Director

Brandy Helt was named School Age Child Care Director in August 2010. She organizes the Before and After school programs, Creative Kids, Kid's Gym, and also the Safari Club and Quest summer programs. After graduating in Fort Madison, she attended Iowa State University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Brandy was the Director of a child care facility near Ames before coming back to Southeast Iowa.

In her free time she likes to spend time with family and friends, play sports, and travel. She is excited to be part of the wonderful staff. Drop in and say hello!



Health and Fitness Director

Stephie Libben is the Health and Fitness Director.   She has worked at the Y since 1997.  Stephie enjoys conversing with members and working with them to reach their goals.  Her husband's name is Steve and they have one child, Zachery.

Stephie’s certifications include:  YMCA aerobic instructor certification, YMCA personal training certification, USAT certified Triathlon coach, Mandatory Child Abuse Reporter training and CPR certification.  She graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in K-12 grade Physical Education and a coaching endorsement.  Stephie is also a member of Kiwanis Club and Burlington Fine Arts Club.

Exercise and physical fitness have been great hobbies of Stephie’s for a long time.  She enjoys lifting weights with her husband, vacationing, and watching her son in sporting events.

Sheila Burgus would like to extend greetings from the front desk at the Y.  She works closely with the front desk staff in efforts to provide members and guests with the best customer service Burlington has to offer!  It has been fascinating for Sheila to observe and participate in the merging of our organizations to the Burlington Area Community YMCA-YWCA.  The front desk procedures have become more efficient for the members!   Sheila welcomes all comments and suggestions on how the Y can better serve you!



Bookkeeper

Ruth started at the Y in 1997 as the bookkeeper. She handles all of the Accounts Payable and the Payroll. She is very excited about the Community Y and only having one organization to do Payroll and Accounts Payable for. Ruth has lived in Burlington for 33 years. She has three grown children and four beautiful granddaughters. Her husband's name is Guy and he is a board member for the Community YMCA-YWCA. In her free time she enjoys working out and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She looks forward to seeing everyone at the Y.
