LIVESTRONG AT THE YMCA

The Burlington YMCA was selected to offer LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA, a physical Activity and Well-Being initiative for cancer Survivors.  LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a twelve week, small group program designed to help cancer survivors regain their strength, flexibility, balance, and social interaction during and after treatment through organized events, programs, and activities.

“When I was diagnosed with cancer, I was new to the area and did not know anyone outside of work. I got through treatments by "being strong." The LiveSTRONG Staff and women in my group not only helped get my body back into shape, but became my strength and support through emotionally tough times, times I was not feeling "strong." Today, I am lucky to call these women friends. We share a bond only we understand. I am very grateful to the Burlington (YMCA) LIVESTRONG program for showing me what real strength is all about.” - LIVESTRONG at the YMCA Participant

"I learned a lot from all of you and have gained enough strength that my cardiac output was 9% above where it needed to be."  -LIVESTRONG at the YMCA Participant
